Chili Cookoff At Chef's Draws A Huge Crowd

South Kensington, Rocky Hill and Newington Fire Departments all took part.

 

Volunteer firefighters from Rocky Hill will competed against ones from South Kensington and Newington in Sunday at Chef's in Berlin. The event drew an overflow crowd as cars had to park in the neighborhood side streets around the store.

will be donating an additional $500 to the winner of the Chili Cook-off for a charity of their choice.

When asked what they thought of the chilis, patrons said South Kensington's was the hottest and had the most kick. Rocky Hill was flavorful and many liked the beans. Newington's was the sweetest and least hot.

South Kensington won the contest with the most votes and donated it's $500 prize to the American Cancer Society.

Rocky Hill was second and made a donation to the Fire Department’s Scholarship Fund.
