Court Postpones Sentencing for Former Berlin Priest in Child Porn Case

Father Michael Miller faces at least five years in prison.

The Berlin Catholic priest who pleaded guilty to engaging in sexual online chats with a 13-year-old was scheduled to be sentenced this week in New Britain Superior Court.

But his sentencing has been delayed until Aug. 15 after his attorney requested more time to gather information, The New Britain Herald reported.

Miller, a priest at St. Paul in Kensington, pleaded guilty in May to possession of child pornography, publishing an obscenity, and three counts of risk of injury to a minor.

The allegations stemmed from a 2011 investigation into Miller's illicit Facebook and text message contact with a 13-year-old boy.

Police said Miller also sent pornographic images to one of the teens.

Miller faces five years in prison for his crimes.
