East Haddam Woman Charged With Animal Cruelty, Practicing as a Vet Without a License

The following arrest information was provided by the Berlin Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

An East Haddam woman who had been providing veterinary services in Berlin is facing charges after investigations into an animal cruelty investigation revealed she had been practicing without proper licensing.

Police arrested 56-year-old Shelley Lavigne Tuesday following an investigation into complaints made to the department. Further details were not immediately available.

The Berlin Police Department reported the following arrests:

Nov. 18

Joseph Domnisoru, 24, of 406 Berlin St. in East Berlin, was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct by intimidation, Nov. 18.

Nov. 19

Shelley A. Lavigne, 56, of 160 Daniel Peck Road in East Haddam, was charged with cruelty to animals and five counts of practicing veterinary medicine without a license, Nov. 19.
