Berlin Resident Arrested For Credit Union Robbery

Robert Armstrong also robbed banks in Southington and Bristol.

 

The Berlin Police Department has made an arrest in the November 19, 2012 robbery that occurred at the UBI Federal Credit Union at 40A Chamberlain Highway in Kensington.

After receiving several anonymous tips, Robert Armstrong, 35, of 20 Dunham Drive, Berlin, was identified as the suspect in this robbery.

Detectives developed further information that Armstrong was a suspect in bank robberies in Southington and Bristol as well.

After further investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Robert Armstrong. Armstrong was in the custody of the Department of Corrections having been arrested in December 2012 for the robbery in Southington. The Berlin warrant was served at New Britain Superior Court on January 25, 2013.

Armstrong was charged with Robbery in the 2nd Degree and Larceny in the 2nd Degree.

He is currently incarcerated on a $150,000 court set bond.
