Berlin Police Blotter: Drink and Drive? Time to Think Again

The following arrest information was provided by the Berlin Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Police arrested nearly a half dozen motorists over the weekend in connection with driving under the influence charges including two they sai were involved in accidents as a result of operating under the influence. As the holiday season continues, enforcement will continue, police said.

Officers also reported several additional arrests over the busy weekend. Take a look back at the latest arrest logs.

The Berlin Police Department reported the following arrests:

Dec. 12

Alex A. Gover, 20, of 27 Wolcott Court in East Berlin, was charged with second-degree failure to appear, Dec. 12.

Tammy L. Tibbs, 33, of 368 Allen St. in New Britain, was charged with criminal impersonation and third-degree identity theft, Dec. 12.

Angel A. Calderon, 29, of 60 Berkley Drive in Hartford, was charged with following too closely, operating a motor vehicle without a license, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol and evading responsibility in an accident, Dec. 12.

Dec. 13

Patricia Devivo, 62, of 137 Gradnview Ave. in Berlin, was charged with failure to drive a reasonable distance apart, refusal to submit to a chemical test and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, Dec. 13.

Kazimiere Karwowski, 45, of 41 Hall Lane in Berlin, was charged with failure to drive in proper lane on a multiple lane highway, refusal to submit to a chemical test, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol and two counts of failure to carry registration, Dec. 13.

Patrick Meskers, 26, of 210 N. Main St. in Marlborough, was charged with sixth-degree larceny, Dec. 13.

Dec. 14

Sean Gene Howrd, 36, of 1 Howard St. in Meriden, was charged with failure to obey traffic control signal and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, Dec. 14.

Dec. 15

Brandon Kenneth Barrett, 24, of 188 Vinegard Drive in Berlin, was charged with second-degree breach of peace and third-degree criminal mischief, Dec. 15.

Benjamin Leiss, 22, of 470 Worthington Ridge Road in Berlin, was charged with second-degree breach of peace and third-degree criminal mischief, Dec. 15.
