Berlin Police Blotter: Berlin Man Charged in Burglary

The following arrest information was provided by the Berlin Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Berlin man is facing charges following a warrant into a burglary earlier this year, although details were not immediately available. Police also reported several additional arrests on Thursday.

The Berlin Police Department reported the following arrests:

Oct. 15

Richard Blancato Jr., 35, of 20 Red Barn Road in Berlin, was charged with two counts of second-degree reckless endangerment and third-degree criminal mischief, Oct. 15.

Brian Burness, 49, of 14 Fairview Drive in Berlin, was charged with second-degree failure to appear, Oct. 15.

Kostas G. Hasiotis, 31, of 88 Squire St. in New London, was charged with second-degree failure to appear, Oct. 15.

Karl Fletcher, 42, of 239 Glen St. in New Britain, was charged with two counts of issuing a bad check, Oct. 15.

Derrick Lamar Straughn, 33, of 1191 Berlin Turnpike in Berlin, was charged with third-degree burglary and criminal attempt to commit sixth-degree larceny, Oct. 15.
