Berlin PD Provides An Assist

Police: Man charged with breaking into home arrested without incident after police surround the home.

A Rocky Hill man was arrested after police said he allegedly broke into a home on Eastview Terrace Thursday afternoon.

A neighbor called police after a suspicious man was spotted in someone’s backyard on Eastview Terrace at 12:42 p.m. 

Javier Garcia Jr., 44, of 58 B Carillon Drive had entered the home through a window and was in the progress of the burglary when police arrived.

Officers from Rocky Hill and Berlin surrounded the home and started to communicate with Garcia. He was arrested without incident.

Garcia’s bail is $50,000 and he is expected to appear in Superior Court in New Britain Friday.

Police said the speedy arrest happened because of “excellent teamwork” by police and neighbors. Anyone who sees suspicious activity is asked to call 860-258-7640.
