Berlin Police Make Second Arrest In Burger King Robbery

Suspect was already in jail so he was brought to court on these charges and had his bail increased to $750,000.

Berlin Police, led by Detective Sean McMahon, have made a second arrest in the robbery of the Burger King Restaurant on New Britain Road on August 4, at about 10:15.

Gordon Randolph, who was already in jail, was brought to court and served with an arrest warrant. The charges are Robbery, Conspiracy to commit robbery, Unlawful restraint and Threatening.

"It was a scary incident," Berlin Deputy Chief John Klett said. "These guys went into the Burger King, got the manager to open the safe and move everybody into the back. They had guns and showed them in the act of the robbery."

The first arrest was made to Eric Gamble in May.

"We were lucky enough to be able to place them at a similar robbery or robberies in Hartford," Klett said. "From the stories we got and the videotape, we were able to narrow it down to these two men."

Burger King Manager Yadira Velasquez opened the safe and the men drove away.

"We actually gave Ms. Velasquez a Chief's Award for the way she handled things," Klett said. "She kept everybody calm and was able to make sure that nobody got injured in this scary and volatile situation.
