All four Berlin fire companies and a task force consisting of help from Rocky Hill, Wethersfield, Cromwell and Newington, converged on a factory fire at 555 Wethersfield Road around 6:30 a.m. Friday morning.
The address is the home of Jensen Fabricating Engineers.
"They put the fire out very quickly," Kensington Fire Chief Mark Lewandowski said. "Jim Simons and Berlin Fire was in charge so I never went inside but I knew they got it out pretty quick.
"I'm not sure what their set-up is but it's a manufacturing plant and the fire was in one of their machines."
Nobody was injured and the factory was able to have business as usual on Friday.
"It is a manufacturing plant and it was a fire from a machine called an evaporator," Deputy Fire Marshal Matt Odishoo said. "There was sludge on te bottom of the machine and the fire was contained right in that one machine. There was smoke throughout the building including the office. There was some water damage but damage was isolated. The owners were going to diagnose what was wrong with the machine."
