I would like to pay tribute to Denise McNair, Berlin's Town Manager. I recall trying to reach various departments in Berlin one morning. Typically I have been successful reaching individuals in the Town Clerk's office, who have always been very helpful; however, in a number of departments, which I will not mention by name, I inevitably get voicemail, even if I call a number of times throughout the day. One morning, frustrated with the inability to reach a live person at a particular department in Berlin's Town Hall, I pressed for the receptionist/operator and, to my pleasant surprise, Denise McNair answered the call and addressed my concern. How relieved I felt knowing that someone at the Town Hall would pick up the phone without my hearing the typical, "sorry, but I am not at my desk at the moment...." Thank you, Denise McNair, for extending that special service to your Town's residents. That's service with a capital "S". I deeply appreciate it.

I would have to nominate teacher Scott Rossi. Whether it be in the classroom or on the lacrosse field, he has really given the students of Berlin a chance to get a leg up on their way to promising futures. Mr. Rossi definitely deserves an A.

I would nominate "Tom Stanwichs" as Person of the year.... He is not only a great father/husband, his pride for his town far outweighs the "Average residents"... He makes sure he frequents ONLY local businesses, noting it may be a little more expensive, but maintaining our jobs in Town keeps our economy moving therefore Berlin/Kensington has a lower unemployment rate... The Berlin School districts have been blessed with a very involved father, loving husband, and proud parent....
