We, the undersigned concerned citizens oppose AT&T's proposed cell tower on the grounds of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church at 1103 Chamberlain Highway Kensington, CT 06037

The proposed tower will stand as a 16 story high property devaluing eyesore as well as force a CT Blue Trail to be rerouted.  The fenced in area will have a base station on church property and will come as close as 168 ft to its nearest neighbor.  CT Scans, X-Rays and cell towers all give off harmful EMFs in different concentrations.  Who would want to gamble with their health and live next to that?

As the long-term impact of cell phone towers on the health of individuals and wildlife is still unknown, we call for the need for extreme precaution. Although Public Act 12-165 was passed by Connecticut's Governor Malloy in 2012 to set cell tower sites 250 ft from schools and daycare centers, no limitations have been set as to how close a cell tower can be in relation to personal residences where childen spend more of their time than school and day care combined.

CT and Vermont are the only states that have a Siting Council that over rides the ability for Towns to make their own decisions on where cell towers are acceptable.

 Sincerely,

Jennifer Jeknavorian
