A Kensington resident is one of three Northwest Catholic baseball players who have signed letters of intent to compete on Division I collegiate teams. Taylor Luciani will play at Quinnipiac University.

Taylor, the son of Anthony and Tracey Luciani of Kensington, joined the baseball team his sophomore year. As a first baseman in 2013, he was responsible for 157 outs and was named to the All-Academic team. He has also been a member of the Northwest Catholic indoor track team. As a member of the Berlin American Legion team over the summer, Taylor pitched for over 47 innings, for 5 wins and one save, with an ERA of 0.059 and 49 strikeouts over 11 games.

“Everyone at Northwest Catholic is excited for Taylor,” said Athletic Director Matthew Martorelli ’03. “He has worked extremely hard and is a great role model who exemplifies the mission of Northwest Catholic.”

Since 1961, Northwest Catholic’s mission has been to educate the whole person: mind, body, spirit, and soul. Enrollment for the Class of ’18 is now under way, and prospective students are invited to the take the Entrance Exam at Northwest Catholic on December 7, 2013.
