Berlin defeats Platt, drops first match over weekend

Berlin wrestling had their makeup against Platt High School on Friday night at Platt.  Berlin wrestled hard for the win. 

Over the weekend, Berlin traveled to Guilford High School for a tournament with Bacon Academy, Guilford, No. 2 ranked Xavier, Fermi and New Fairfield. 

Berlin won their first match vs. Bacon Academy 59 - 16.  They continued their winning ways against host Guilford 60 - 7.

That setup the final match against No. 2 ranked Xavier.  Berlin lost the match 47 - 24.  Winners against Xavier were Mike Burek, Jake Eliades, Rich Schlichting, Ethan Greider, Devin Reilly and Zach Veleas.

Berlin now stands at 17 - 1 on the year.

Up next for Berlin is Maloney High School at Maloney, Wednesday at 6 pm.
