Timberlin Golf Club Summer Junior Programs

Summer is right around the corner and at Timberlin, we are pleased to announce some great junior golf programs.

PGA TOUR PLAYER JUNIOR CLINIC

After submitting an application to the CT Section PGA Golf Foundation Committee, Timberlin Golf Club was lucky enough to be announced as one of the golf courses to host a junior golf clinic conducted by a PGA Tour player during Travelers Championship week.  The clinic will be held on Wednesday, June 22nd at 2:00 p.m in the Timberlin driving range area.  We will host a 30-minute junior golf clinic followed by a 15-minute autograph session.  The clinic is free for all to attend. 

100 HOLE MARATHON TO BENEFIT THE CT SECTION PGA GOLF FOUNDATION

On June 20th, I will be playing 100 holes with Kyle Hedstrom (Stanley Golf Course – Head Golf Professional) and Tim Gavronski (Shuttle Meadow Country Club – Head Golf Professional).  We will be playing the golf marathon at Shuttle Meadow Country Club and we are in hopes of raising money for the CT Section PGA Golf Foundation which benefits various statewide junior golf programs.  Donations can be made in the Timberlin Golf Shop.  Checks can be made payable to the CT Section PGA Golf Foundation.  Thank you in advance for supporting the future of the game!

JUNIOR GOLF PROGRAM

This summer Assistant Golf Professional Jacob Halligan and staff will be conducting 3 weeks of junior golf clinics and 2 weeks of junior golf camps.

The junior golf clinics will be held in 4 one-hour sessions for age groups 10-15 & 5-9.  The cost for the week is $125 which includes lunch each day.  If your child has special food needs, please let us know.  The clinics for the 10-15 year olds will be held from 10:00 am–11:00 am, and the 5-9 year olds will be held from 11:30 am-12:30 pm each day.  Below is the schedule for the junior golf clinics:

Week 1 -         July 18, 19, 21, 22

Week 2 -         August 1, 3, 4, 5

Week 3 -         August 22, 23, 25, 26

The junior golf camps will be held in 4 three-hour sessions for ages 9-17.  The cost for the week is $175 which includes lunch each day.  If your child has special food needs, please let us know.  The camp will be held from 9:00 am–12:00 pm each day.  Below is the schedule for the junior golf camps:

Week 1 -         July 12, 13, 14, 15

Week 2 -         August 8, 9, 11, 12

TIMBERLIN JUNIOR CLUB

Sign-ups have started for the 2011 Timberlin Junior Club.  All boys and girls ages 9-18 are eligible to play.  Cost for membership is $10 and must be paid before playing in an event.  Each event will be $5 plus any greens fees that apply.  Below is a list of the schedule and events:

Wednesday June 29th           Stroke Play Event      11:00 am tee times

Wednesday July 13th            2-person Scramble   10:00 am tee times

Wednesday July 20th            Stroke Play Event      10:00 am tee times

Thursday July 28th                Stableford Event       10:00 am tee times

Sunday August 7th        Junior Club Championship            1:00 pm tee times

These tournaments will also be used as qualifiers for the Timberlin Interclub team.  Along with membership, each junior will receive a USGA Handicap.
