Your Take: Do You Call It UConn?

The University of Connecticut is officially rebranding itself what everyone already calls it. What do you think?

On Thursday, University of Connecticut President Susan Herbst gave her state of the university address, and in it she announced that the school would officially begin calling itself UConn in all its materials.

The school will remain, officially and traditionally, the University of Connecticut. "But we will also capitalize on our fame as UConn, and the attraction people have to that shortened name,'' she was quoted as saying in the Hartford Courant.

UConn makes this announcements as the state awaits the unveiling of the new Husky logo on April 18. In her speech, Herbst admitted the new dog is “very cute, but the bad news is he's not a husky. He's actually a Samoyed. I'm not sure how that happened."

What’s your take on UConn’s new branding? Haven’t you always called it UConn?
