The Parks and Rec Department has done it again. They’ve planned a monster of a Halloween party on Friday, October 26, 2012, 6:30 – 8:45 p.m. in the gym at Willard School.
The spook-tivities, for Berlin kids in preschool – grade 5, include Halloween Bingo, a DJ, arts and crafts, and more. Admission is $3, and children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
Come in costume and register for a chance to win a prize. Winners will be chosen at random from different age categories. Anyone who wears a costume has a chance to win.
A highlight of the evening will be judging of the Pumpkin Decorating Contest. To enter, you must preregister in person at the Berlin Parks and Recreation Office, 230 Kensington Road. The deadline to register is Wednesday, October 24.
The contest is for Berlin youth in preschool through grade 5. Pumpkins should be dropped off between 5:45 and 6:15 p.m., and winners will be announced at 8:15.
Pumpkins will be judged in the following categories:
- Most Frightening
- Most Amusing
- Most Creative
Everyone who attends will have the chance to vote for their favorite. The winner will be named the People’s Choice Pumpkin.
