Hurricane Sandy: Berlin Storm Information

The Berlin schools are closed Monday and Tuesday, the Emergency Shelter is open at McGee Middle School and other updates. Keep checking back for the newest storm updates for Berlin.

 

Town Hall Closed

City Hall closed today, Monday, Oct. 29 at noon.

Emergency Call Information

Emergency Phone Calls should go to 9-1-1. Concerns regarding sheltering, flooding, special assistance needs should go to the Berlin Police Dept. at (860) 828-7080.

State Highways Closed

Gov. Malloy orders road closures for all state highways. Closing will be implemented in two phases. At 11 a.m., trucks prohibited from limited access highways. At 1 p.m., state highways closed to all non-emergency related vehicles.

CT Transit Will Not Run Monday

Due to the expected weather impact of Hurricane Sandy, regular scheduled CTTRANSIT local or express bus services will NOT operate on Monday, October 29.

Shelter Open at McGee Middle School

An emergency shelter at McGee Middle School, 899 Norton Road, will be open starting at 3 p.m. on Monday, October 29.

Social Services says that if you are leaving home to stay with friends, family, or at a shelter or warming center, remember to bring your prescription and non-prescription medications, including insulin and testing supplies. You should also bring enough personal supplies to stay for 48 hours - personal care items, clothing, entertainment (books, cards), snacks.

Berlin Public Schools Closed

Berlin Public Schools will be closed Monday, October 29, 2012 and Tuesday, October 30, 2012.
