Eric Fairchild, a 1990 Berlin High graduate, is a Massachusetts State Trooper with the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing. The helicopter he was flying in was very crucial in finding Boston Marathon bombing suspect number two, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, Friday night.
As a result, Fairchild was honored at a Boston Bruins game recently.
"It was a team effort up in that helicopter," Fairchild said. "Eddie Mathurin was on FLIR full time and Mark Spencer did a great job flying.
"We didn't want to go to the Boston Bruins game today but were told to. Everyone involved as well as every agency went above and beyond the call in a very dangerous and fluid situation.
"Let us not forget those who were killed and who were injured. They as well as their families deserve the attention. We were just in the right place at the right time doing our jobs."
