Prudence Crandall Center Receives Grant from Verizon Wireless for Holiday Gifts

As part of its HopeLine program dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence and their families, Verizon Wireless recently awarded Prudence Crandall Center a $1,000 “Kids In Need” grant. Accepting the donation for the Prudence Crandall Center is (L-R): Development Director Suzan Bibisi and Community Outreach Coordinator Kaitlin Frawley. The funds will assist those served by the Prudence Crandall Center to purchase gifts for their children this holiday season. Through their Adopt-A-Family program and other donations, the Prudence Crandall Center provides multiple gifts to each member of the 34 families they serve, which include 95 children and adults.

Verizon Wireless’ HopeLine program collects no-longer-used wireless phones, batteries and accessories, in any condition at Communications Stores nationwide. Proceeds from HopeLine are used to provide wireless phones and cash grants to local shelters and non-profit organizations that focus on domestic violence prevention and awareness. During the holiday season, HopeLine “Kids In Need” grants aim to make the holidays a little brighter for children of families served by domestic violence organizations across New England.
