Hospital President and CEO Clarence J. Silvia presented the award and prize, a three-night stay at the Hyatt Regency at Goat Island, Newport, RI, at the hospital’s employee recognition dinner.

Broad was nominated by David Girouard, MPH, R.Ph., hospital pharmacy director, and Scott Weiner, M.D., director of the nurseries. One of Broad’s major accomplishments, they noted, was creation of a reference for physicians, pharmacists and nurses on how to prepare certain medications for babies in the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit.
