Berlin Nurse Honored By THOCC

Natalie Cooper receives The Hospital of Central Connecticut's Viola Larson Memorial Award.

 

Berlin resident Natalie Cooper, R.N., B.S.N., a nurse in The Hospital of Central Connecticut oncology unit, received the hospital’s Viola Larson Memorial Award for nursing excellence May 8.

Cooper was recognized for her clinical expertise, leadership, professional development and compassion, and respect for patients and co-workers. Her nominators noted the many ways Cooper exhibits the hospital’s values of safety, integrity, caring and excellence in her interactions with patients, families and her colleagues.

“Natalie builds a trusting relationship and creates a healing environment for all the patients under her care,” her nominators wrote. “She exhibits great initiative, professionalism and focus.”

Cooper was one of 11 nominees for the award, named for the hospital’s former vice president of nursing.
