Ronan Tynan Coming to Southington For 9/11 Ceremony

His story could very well be one of the most inspirational you'll ever hear. And on Sept. 9, you'll have the opportunity to hear it firsthand.

Dr. Ronan Tynan, the world renowned Irish Tenor, motivational speaker, physician, author, double amputee, and Paralympic gold medalist, will be the guest speaker at The Summit At Plantsville, for a ceremony to "Honor & Remember 9/11."

Colleen Donahue informs the community of the upcoming event in an Announcement she posted on Patch. She writes:

"Barbara Walters said it best when introducing Ronan Tynan to ABC’s 20/20 audience: 'We have told you about a lot of incredible people, but we have never profiled anyone with the accomplishments of the man you are about to meet...'"

Among his accomplishments are:

  • 18 gold medals in the Paralympics between 1981 and 1984, including 14 world records (he still holds nine)
  • Musical performances at the funeral of President Ronald Reagan; the wedding of New York Mayor Rudy Guliani; the 80th birthday celebration of President George H.W. Bush; the singing of God Bless America at countless seventh inning stretches at Yankee Stadium; and, most recently, a performance at the Washington DC Memorial Day celebration
Admission is $50 per person and tickets must be purchased in advance. For tickets, contact Barbara or Colleen at 860-628-0364.
