New Britain Youth Theater: I Know I Saw Gypsies

I Know I Saw Gypsies, the first production of New Britain Youth Theater's Teen Company, will be perfored in the air-conditioned Recital Hall of Trinity-on-Main. The show, simply staged with six teenaged actors, is a moving collection of several short pieces by high school playwrights. It deals with teen issues such as lack of popularity, prejudice, bullying, first love, family relationships and other troubles. Several of the pieces are comical; many are touching and serious; and all of them are powerful. The title comes from a line in the script, which is a mixture of dialogue and poetic monologues. Parents of young children are cautioned that racial and homophobic epithets are used in the script.

Seating is limited, but available tickets will be sold at the door. Tickets may be reserved by calling New Britain Youth Theater at (860) 515-8115.
