New Britain Museum of American Art Hosts University of Hartford Evening

Power Boothe: Out of Order, through Apr. 10, 2011. Boothe is the recently retired dean of the Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford. Introductions will be followed by brief artist's remarks in the Davis Gallery.

NEW/NOW: Interactive Crazy Quilts by Carol Padberg, through Apr. 24, 2011. Padberg is associate professor at the Hartford Art School, University of Hartford. Introductions will be followed by brief artist's remarks in the Cheney Gallery.

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Swords: The Illustrations of Arthur Szyk, through Jan. 30, 2011, curated by University of Hartford professor Avinoam Patt in conjunction with the 25th anniversary of the Maurice Greenberg Center for Judaic Studies.
Lecture, 6-8 p.m.--"The Art of Illustrating in a Time of Persecution: Arthur Szyk and Dr. Seuss," by Professor Walter Metz, Southern Illinois University.
