Perhaps the most popular clergy member in town in recent memory is in need of your prayers.
According to numerous sources, Father Michael Miller of St. Paul Church was taken by Life Star this morning at approximately 11 a.m. to St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. The nature of his medical problem is unknown.
St. Francis Hospital confirmed that Miller was in the intensive care unit at 8:45 p.m. Monday night, July 4.
A nurse said, "There is no information that can be given out about his condition at this time."
Hunter's Ambulance, the Berlin Police Department and town fire officials did not have any more information to add other than Life Star was called and the patient was transported to St. Francis.
Father Michael has a friend in every child in town, not just from his parish, but all children. He was a frequent visitor to high school sporting events and town activities. Recently he gave the invocation at the dedication of Veterans Park.
He has also volunteered in many capacities and is the chaplain for the South Kensington Volunteer Fire Dept.
Each year at the Berlin Relay for Life, Father Michael holds a Mass at the Berlin Fairgrounds on Saturday night after the luminaria ceremony for the Relay particpants who will not be able to get to church on Sunday morning.
Texts and Facebook messages filled phones and the Web as all from Berlin wonder about his condition.
