Long Island University sadly announces that student-athlete Ryan Lee has succumbed to head injuries suffered after being struck by a car in Brooklyn, N.Y. Lee, from Berlin, Conn., was a sophomore on the men's golf team.
“We extend our deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to Ryan's parents, Dan and Theresa, and his sister, Amanda, and all of Ryan's family and friends,” Director of Athletics John Suarez said. “This is a terrible loss for not only the department of athletics and our student-athletes, but the entire Long Island University community. Ryan was very popular on campus and we will come together to support each other at this difficult time. He will be sorely missed.”
Counselors will be available for the LIU community at Psychological Services.
