Good News Berlin: Remembering Our Veterans During The Holidays
Pack 13 of East Berlin sings songs, gives gifts and talks to Veterans at Veterans Hospital in Rocky Hill.
A dozen cub scouts and boy scouts from Pack 13 in East Berlin recently visiting the Veteran's Hospital in Rocky Hill to sing holiday songs, give gifts and spend times with the veterans.
After singing three songs, the scouts gave the 30-plus vets gifts, which included socks and hats, books and other items.

The highlight for the boys and the parents who accompanied them was spending time to talking to the veterans. Common questions for the veterans were, "What war were you in?" "Did you ever shoot a gun?" "Were you on a boat or a submarine?" and "What was your job while you were in the military?"
One veteran told several of the scouts he had served in the Polish army against Germany and Russia and then when he moved to the United States, he was drafted into the military and had to go right back to war.
