Generous Donations Provide Berlin PD with Crucial Dive Equipment, Training

In a water emergency, time is of the essence. The right equipment and training can mean the difference between life and death.

Now members of the Berlin Police Department's underwater response team has the tools they need to succeed, thanks in large part to a generous donation from Kevin M. Budney, president of Budney Overhaul & Repair, Ltd./Budney Aerospace, Inc.

The department this week presented a plaque to Budney and his organization in appreciation of the numerous and significant philanthropic contributions he has made to the Department’s Dive Team, Berlin Deputy Police Chief John Klett said.

"Underwater breathing and communications equipment, several new dry suits, and most recently signage for the Team’s new response vehicle are only a few of Mr. Budney’s ongoing contributions," Berlin Deputy Police Chief John Klett said.

"In recognizing Mr. Budney, the Team wishes to express its sincere appreciation for his generosity and support."

Budney has been involved with the department for more than a decade now, serving as an invaluable source of support to the team and its mission to provide an underwater response not only to the citizens of Berlin, but to surrounding communities as well.
