Berlin Library Programs Aim to Entertain

The Berlin-Peck Memorial Library has a flood of opportunities coming, so take a look at everything the town has to offer.

Looking for something to do over the next few weeks as you wait to usher in the holiday season? No problem because the Berlin-Peck Memorial Library has what you are looking for.

The library has released there schedule, so take a look what lies ahead:

ADULT/TEEN PROGRAMS
Senior Center Book Discussion: Oct. 30 at 1:30 p.m.
Join us in discussing Mary Coin by Marisa Silver. Copies of the book will be available for pick-up at the library. Please contact the library to reserve a spot. This book group meets at the Berlin Senior Center.

Zombie Workshop: Oct. 31 at 3:30 p.m.
A professional makeup artist will transform you into a zombie for Halloween night. Call (860) 828-7125 for an appointment, as space is limited. For kids in grades 6 and up. Sponsored by the Friends of the Berlin-Peck Memorial Library.

Cookbook Author: Monday, Nov. 4 at 6:30 p.m.

Health Care Reform: Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 1 p.m.
Health Care Reform: What You Need to Know Now. Randi Oster, a leading speaker on Health Care Reform, will answer such questions as: What are the top 10 changes I need to know about? When is this all taking place? How much will the new insurance cost? Will I qualify for health insurance premium subsidies? What is the penalty if I don’t purchase insurance? Sit and Knit: Thursday, Nov. 7 and Nov. 21 at 6 p.m.
Do you know how to knit, but following a pattern is difficult for you? Are you a beginner who can barely cast on? Would you like to meet some new people and sit and knit? Join leader Gina Kahn for a relaxing knitting session. No registration necessary.

Investor's Group: Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 1:30 p.m.

Matinee: Friday, Nov. 15 at 1:30 p.m.

Financial Aid Seminar: Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 6:30 p.m.
Craig Breitsprecher,an independent financial advisor who has built his practice by guiding parents through the college funding to retirement transition will provide specific strategies on how to make the financial aid process more time efficient and more affordable. Paul Bisaccia (Musician): Thursday, Nov. 21 at 6:30 p.m.

Mondays at 10:30 a.m., for ages 18-36 months No registration. Drop-in weekly.

Storytimes for Little Ditties for Itty Bitties
Mondays at 11:30 a.m., for ages birth to 18 months. No registration, drop-in weekly.

Family Storytimes, Thursdays at 10:30 p.m.

All ages, but especially good for ages 3-6. No registration, drop-in weekly.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid Day: Tuesday, Nov. 5
It’s the launch day for a brand new Diary of a wimpy kid book – celebrate with free decals (while supplies last), activity sheets, and take your photo next to a full-size wimpy kid prop. Movie showing at 2 p.m.  All ages, drop-in only.

Animal Storytime
: Saturday, Nov. 16 at 1:30 p.m.
Glastonbury Audubon Society presents a story about snakes along with real life snakes. All ages, register beginning Nov. 4.
