Becker Earns Eagle Scout Award

His community service project helped the Berlin Food Pantry.

Eric Robert Becker, son of Mary and Robert Becker, has earned Scouting’s highest award. Becker achieved the rank of Eagle Scout on May 21 and was issued a proclamation from Mayor Adam Salina on June 21.

In order to achieve Eagle rank, a Scout must complete a Leadership Service project that will benefit their community in a positive way.  Becker’s service project provided assistance to struggling families in Berlin. He collected over 1,100 pounds of food and $584.00 for the Berlin Food Pantry. He sorted all of the donated items and stocked the shelves at the Food Pantry as well.

“We’re very blessed to have these types of Eagle Scout projects,” said Mayor Salina. He said Becker’s project has had great rewards for local families who use the Berlin Food Pantry. He also told Becker, “We expect big things from you in the years to come.”
