'Antiques Roadshow' Opportunity Coming to Area

The fundraiser for the Barnes museum will give area residents a chance to learn more about their historical pieces and value.

The following was submitted by Marie Secondo, director of the Barnes Museum.

Have you taken a look at what grandma gave you years ago? How about the attic? Are there mystery treasures up there You’d like to find out about?

This Thursday’s your chance to bring those antiques and heirlooms to the Barnes Museum.

We have seven appraisers this year from throughout the state that have volunteered their time to evaluate and answer all your questions. A previous appraisal night a few years ago brought an artifact that later sold at Sotheby’s in New York City for just under $1 million.

The lines start off long early, but you still have time throughout the night to have your items looked at from 6 p.m. - 8:30 p.m..  Doors will not close until everything’s been appraised and photographs will be accepted for larger items.
