55 Years and Still Having a Ball!

The 55th Annual Policeman's Ball comes to Berlin in mid-November and will include an opportunity to raise money for local charities and honor the work of the town's dedicated officers.

It's time once again for the policeman's ball and after more than 50 years, the Berlin Police Department and area residents still have reason to celebrate.

The 55th Annual Berlin Policeman's Ball returns on Nov. 16 with the event kicking off at 7 p.m. with a cocktail hour. The program will be held at the Portuguese Club at 730 N. Mountain Road in Newington.

Officer Robert L. Canto said in a press release that the annual celebration helps recognize officers who have gone above and beyond and also serves as a fundraiser to help raise money for non-profits throughout the Berlin area.

This year's event will include the following schedule, with live music from the "In The Groove" band:

  • Cocktail Hour ~ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
  • Awards Recognition ~ 8:00 – 8:30 pm
  • Dinner (Michael’s Catering) ~ 8:30 pm

The event includes an open bar and costs $100 per couple to attend. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Bob Canto at (860) 828-7082 and rcanto@town.berlin.ct.us.
