Bryana Colasanti of Berlin, a senior at the CREC Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts was selected by the Connecticut Historical Society to have her work included in a juried photography exhibit at the Connecticut Historical Society.

The Connecticut Historical Society’s photography contest accompanies a new exhibit entitled: Though a Different Lens: Three Connecticut Women Photographers. The exhibit includes photographs which document two generations of female photographers from Connecticut and features a new collection of photography donated by the Rosalie Thorne McKenna Foundation as well as a collection by Marie Kendall. Both exhibits are on display at the Connecticut Historical Society, One Elizabeth Street in Hartford from October 11, 2013 to March 29, 2014. Visitors to the exhibit can vote for the Viewers' Choice Award, which will be announced in March 2014.

Colasanti is in the Visual Arts program at the Arts Academy, which teaches the fundamentals of art in a variety of disciplines, including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, and sculpture. Students in the program are taught visual thinking, creative problem solving, and are prepared for experimental work in all media.
