New Homebound Service Offered by Berlin-Peck Memorial Library

The Berlin-Peck Memorial Library offers volunteer delivery services to Berlin residents who are homebound, temporarily or permanently, because of illness, disability or advanced age.   The patron must have a current Berlin library card.  Applications can be mailed to residents who do not have a card.  Residents may call the library’s reference desk at 860-828-7125 to register for this service.   A staff member will assist with the selection of materials.  All circulating library materials may be delivered.  These include books, music, magazines, audiobooks, DVDs or large print books.   The staff member will then call a volunteer.  The volunteer will be given the resident’s telephone number and address and will call to arrange a convenient time for delivery and/or pickup.  The lending period is the normal loan time, but users may call the library to renew items if they are not on reserve. Patrons may also register for this service by email at illbpml@libraryconnection.info Please include name, address, telephone number, library barcode and the title(s) of the items being requested.  For those interested in volunteering for this service, please contact the library at 860-828-7125.
