Quick Easter Craft Project

Dyeing eggs with my children each spring is one of my favorite family traditions.  Growing up, it was always something I looked forward to, and now that my kids are old enough to join in the fun, it makes it that much more enjoyable. Below you'll find three techniques to help you (and your little ones!) take your eggs to the next level.  They can be combined with dyeing, or stand alone as easy, quick ways to decorate eggs that the whole family will enjoy. (Just a note, some of these techniques may render your eggs inedible, but if you're anything like me and my family, you always dye more than you can eat!)

 1.    Stickers

This is a great technique for the littlest of egg dyers! You can find stickers in literally any theme, from their favorite characters in books and movies, to their favorite food. Make sure your eggs are completely dry before applying the stickers. Keep in mind that smaller stickers will work better than large, considering the curve of the egg.

2.    Rubber Stamps

This method of egg decorating takes a little more accuracy, but still is easy and fun. Again, a huge variety of rubber stamps are easy to find at your local craft store.  Variety sets are commonly available that contain multiple small stamps, perfect for use on eggs.

3.    Decoupage

Don’t let the fancy name for this one scare you! “Decoupage” really just refers to the act of adhering paper to a surface with some sort of glue. I found some cute cupcake wrappers with bunnies and chicks on the bottom. I simply cut them out, and my son and I glued them to the surface of the egg. Super simple!
