Heartbreaking Bullying Video Airs Nationally on CBS

The Early Show aired a story about a Bedford Middle School (Westport) student's YouTube video.

A Bedford Middle School student’s YouTube video headlined today’s broadcast of the The Early Show on CBS. Westport Superintendent of Schools Elliott Landon said on air that he was surprised when he saw the student's video.

"This surprises me and I don't know why this was not brought to our attention sooner," he told CBS.

Alye Pollack, the 13-year-old who made the anti-bullying video, is not interviewed. When Westport Patch reported on the video , there were 2,000 views. Since then, the video attracted nearly 40,000 views and more than 1,000 comments.

Pollack’s friend, Sophia Green, told CBS that the bullying was so bad that she put an anonymous message of support in Pollack’s locker.

“She was like really brave for getting through this and she should just keep holding on,” she said on The Early Show.
