David A. Roccapriore, son of David M. and Lynn Roccapriore, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout-the highest achievement in Boy Scouts. 

David has been a Scout since 2000. He started as a Pack 41, Den 5 Tiger Cub at Griswold School and achieved all the ranks of Cub Scouts as well as the Parvuli Dei Religious Award, Arrow of Light Award and the Webelos Super Achiever Award.

He then joined Boy Scout Troop 44. David earned the Ad Altare Dei Religious Award and achieved 43 merit badges while holding various leadership positions.
David’s Eagle project was the renovation of an old cabin, located on the Scheer property in Berlin. The cabin and grounds were cleared of overgrown vegetation and insects. Electrical wiring was updated. Window frames and doors were cemented. Interior and exterior walls were repaired and painted. A fire pit and lean-to for wood storage were constructed and with the addition of a picnic table, the area was made suitable for camping. With these improvements, the general public and youth groups are now able to use the site. The project took over 207 combined hours to complete with the help of 24 volunteers.

David has been also recognized by the Connecticut State Board of Education and the Superintendent of Berlin Schools for achieving the Advanced level on mathematics, reading, writing and science on the 2011 Connecticut Academic Performance Test. This achievement has earned him the distinction of being among the elite of Connecticut High School Students. David is currently in his junior year at the Hartford Academy of Aerospace and Engineering. He plans to attend college and inspires to get a PhD in the research of Neuroscience.
