Car Show This Weekend At Fairgrounds

Summer Knights Annual Car Show will run Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

If you are a car fan, the Berlin Fairgrounds is the place to be this Memorial Day weekend.  The Summer Knights Car Club is staging its 20th anniversary Show and Shine car show at the Beckley Road venue.  The event, held on the 28th and 29th, will be open from 10am to 4pm, with a spectator fee of $5 per person.  In addition to the car show, the club is also holding its third annual Swap Meet on both Saturday and Sunday.

“Besides the great show cars and swap meet, there will be food, raffles, New England Antique Racers, a vintage ice cream truck, and, as we have done every year in the past, some unique trophies”, said Summer Knights president John Jarush.

“Proceeds from the show have helped many children in the area, their families and other charities.  This year we’re proud to announce that our benefit recipient is five-year-old Jonathan Silva of Berlin.  On January 6th, Jonathan was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome - a very rare autoimmune disease that attacks the nervous system. We’re also pleased to say that Jonathan and his family will be present at the show.”
